A celebration and recognition of excellence within Northamptonshire’s food and drink sector

The Weetabix Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards is an annual competition run by the sector for the sector and which is aimed at celebrating all that is great about local food and drink, recognising excellence within the county’s dining and drinking venues and rewarding those who work so hard within the culinary sector.

Launched in the spring each year, the Awards attract hundreds of entries from restaurants, pubs, chefs, cafés and producers as well as nominations and recommendations from the public and following months of judging – including tasting panels, mystery shopping visits, cook-offs and public voting – the competition usually culminates in a spectacular Awards Dinner in the autumn at which the results in all categories are announced.

Owing to the introduction of the second lockdown back in November, which again forced the temporary closure of the hospitality sector, this year's Awards were divided into 'three courses'.

The first course took place on Thursday 12th November and, owing to lockdown restrictions, was a recorded presentation of the results in the product and drink (and related) categories, while the second course took place similarly on Tuesday, 23rd February.

The third course took place on Wednesday, 17th March and was a live broadcast, again via YouTube, and saw the results announced in the remaining categories of 'Food and Drink College Student of the Year', 'World Cuisine Restaurant of the Year' and 'Booker Dining Venue of the Year'.

You can view all three broadcasts at www.youtube.com
